Upcoming Tdap Vaccinations Clinics
The Effort is pleased to announce Tdap vaccination clinics in Aug 2011. We have scheduled six vaccination days from 2pm-6pm to accommodate school students at three of our locations. The vaccinations are available to all incoming 7th-12th graders for the 2011-12 school year.
Tdap vaccination is mandatory for these students and protects against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (whooping cough). Protection provided by the DTaP vaccine received in childhood wears off as kids get older, so preteens and teens need a booster shot known as Tdap. Getting this booster not only protects preteens and teens, but also the people around them—especially little babies and elders.
