Unprecedented Partnership Results in
July 16th Reopening of Oak Park Clinic
In a rare exception to the ailing economic climate, local non-profit agency, The Effort, Inc., in association with Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, the County of Sacramento, and Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society, will re-open the (newly named) The Effort Oak Park Community Health Center.
The Grand Reopening ceremony and festivities will take place on Thursday, July 16th, at 11am—3415 Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The medical clinic will offer affordable prenatal, pediatric, family practice, mental health and dental services to the underserved population of the Oak Park neighborhood.
This unique collaboration succeeded due to:
~Generous donations by Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento
~Donation of site facility & maintenance by Sacramento County
~Volunteer physician hours by SSVMS
~Proven healthcare delivery track record & Federally Qualified Health Center accreditation of The Effort.
~Long-term funding (FQHC 330 Grant) facilitated by Congresswoman Doris Matsui and her staff
******Quote from the Susan Peters on why this happened?*******
Festivities for the Grand Reopening will be observed by statements & proclamations delivered by County Supervisor Susan Peters, Tom Gagen of Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, Max Villalobos of Kaiser Permanente and The Effort CEO Robert Caulk.
This will be followed by dozens of area children breaking their paper link chain, signaling the reopening of the clinic.
